We are proud to offer you our unique GOLD events which will target some of the most incredible experiences and photographic opportunities on this planet. While all of our events are world class, offering fantastic travel experiences  – our two annual GOLD tours go several steps further! There will never be more than two of these events in our calendar each year.

We target rarely photographed subjects, or amazing subjects up close and personal, in a very small group size, with local experts and Darran Leal to maximise your chances at ‘once in a lifetime’ images. This means, we target special  locations and species that few, if any, photographers have shot.

Your professional guides are there to make sure that you get the best from these rare shooting opportunities, and to offer you tools, tips and techniques. We are talking about world class, award winning, picture making possibilities!

We include most costs in our GOLD tours, with only your international flights to be booked by either our flight manager, or you can use your points if airline schedules permitCape Town – Sharks & Whales …
We are based in Cape Town and at our favourite B&B for this special opportunity to photograph the so-called “most dangerous creatures in the ocean”. This will be Darran’s second shoot of these incredible creatures. “Sharks were my only nemesis on this planet. I now love them! The cage made such a difference and the shooting deck was perfect.”

Our itinerary is flexible to allow us the best chance of shooting amazing white pointer shark images. However, you will also have the chance to shoot whales, beautiful coastal scenes, seals and other wildlife, plus the option to visit a winery.

The mystery surrounding Great White Sharks, since the screening of the well-known Jaws – film, is unsurpassed. You can decide to shoot from the boats deck. This offers stunning shoot opportunities, or in the safe environment of a stainless steel cage. This is a dream come true for some and the worst nightmare for others! Darran loved the experience a few years ago and feels you will as well. Come and join us on this unbelievable experience with people who have years’ of experience with these animals. The information you will receive from your knowledgeable crew is jaw dropping. We predict that you will look at these beautiful creatures with new eyes and a silent admiration.

PRE TOUR …
This tour starts immediately after our Kalahari to Cape Town tour. We suggest you arrive in Africa at least 24 hours before the tour departs. This will help you to settle into the new time zone.

YOUR ITINERARY TO ADVENTURE …

DAY 1 – Cape Town
August 22
We enjoy a relaxing day settling into our accommodation and to help those who are finishing the Kalahari to Cape Town tour. Darran will offer a great sunset beach shoot location. He will also go through the logistics of our shoots for the next few days.

DAY 2 – False Bay – Sharks and …
August 23
At daybreak, we board your scheduled boat for Great White Shark photography. False Bay is the only place in the world where Great White Sharks breach (see documentary, “Breaching Sharks”, on The Discovery Channel) and we will try to capture that on film! You will also have the opportunity to photograph the sharks from a cage – a pure adrenalin pumping-experience. All equipment is included and you only need to bring your own towel, should you prefer. (Accommodation supplied.) We return to shore after mid-day. Please note that this excursion is weather dependant. The rest of the afternoon is spent at leisure or exploring the immediate area’s attractions, with entrance as optional extra activities.

DAY 3 – Flexi Day – August 24
Today is a flexi day, this allowing us to optimise the best weather conditions. If we can not get out on the 23rd, we have an excellent chance today. However, most likely it will be a day to explore the coast east of our base. Stunning scenery, flowers and the chance to see and shoot whales. They can come into the coast, literally a stones throw away!

DAY 4 – False Bay – Sharks and …
August 25
We are booked again for another chance to shoot great white sharks. Today will be different as no two experiences offer the same opportunities. We depart early for our False Bay adventure. Afternoon free to relax or join Darran exploring a new location.

DAY 5 – Flexi Day – August 26
Today is our second flexi day, this again allowing us to optimise the best weather conditions. If we can not get out on the 25th, we have an excellent chance today. However, most likely it will be a day to explore from our base. Subject to your interest, weather and availability, we can look at booking another optional activity. However, Darran has several locations that will offer you fantastic images of a diverse nature.

DAY 6 – Final Day – August 27
Morning shoot, subject to timing for your departure from beautiful Cape Town.
